GREYFOXBOUDOIR HAIR & MAKEUP GUIDE
What to expect from your MakeUp Artist (MUAH) during your appointment!
Hair and makeup by one of our AMAZING professional stylists is included in your session fee and we want you to be prepared. It usually takes about 60 to 90 minutes and when you are done it will blow your mind!!! Your confidence will be through the roof!! The artist will provide you with a look that best suits your needs, comfort level, and type of shoot you have chosen.
If you have pictures you want us to use for inspiration let us know! That is a great way for you to tell the artist exactly what what you’d like to achieve and the look you want. Just be aware that the person in the picture you share may not have the same face shape or skin tone as you, but a good makeup artist will be able to achieve the same look in a way that’s flattering and unique to your face.
By the end you will receive a beautiful look, customized perfectly to you and your session... not to mention you will feel amazing and confident wearing it out for the day afterwards!
Please notify our artist of any allergies to products you might have during the session. If you cannot use certain products such as moisturizer and/or foundation please let us know, and feel free to pack your own and bring them with you so they can apply during your session.
Feel free to check out our before and after’s on our webpage to get an idea of how amazing you will look!
Oh, one more thing, while we do cover the cost of the hair and makeup application please feel free to tip your stylist in cash if you feel they went above and beyond for you! They have NO IDEA this part is in my guide, so please don't tell them. Of course no pressure, absolutely you are not required to tip the stylist as we have already covered their fees in full, but we like to spread the love and show our appreciation whenever we can! Our girls are AMAZING and they do an increadible job for us and our clients! Here are a few tips to remember for your session:
Hair: Do's and Don'ts
• Do not drastically change your hair or your hair routine the week before your session.
• Do wash your hair the night before or morning of your shoot and have COMPLETELY blow dried hair before your session. This is IMPERATIVE! If you arrive with wet/damp hair we can not give you hair styling. We recommend using some kind of clarifying shampoo to make sure to remove all oils and debris from your scalp. Arriving with product residue or leftover oils will result in a "greasy" look and lack of volume. This is very important!
• Do NOT put products in your hair prior to your session. Heat protectant will be applied by your stylist as well as hair spray and texturizing spray for volume. Arriving for your session with products in your hair can make it incredibly difficult for us to properly style your hair and, again, may result in a "greasy" look and lack of volume.
•Do NOT flat iron your hair prior to the session. If you blow-dry immediately after shower, especially if you use a round brush to blow dry, you should not need a flat iron. We do have a flat iron at the studio along with our other styling wands and can flat iron if necessary prior to styling.
• Never wear your curls intact. ALWAYS brush them to a soft bouncy wave unless, of course, you have naturally curly hair.
• Get your hair cut or colored a week or two before. remember, your roots will show if they are not touched up properly. Also remember that accidents can happen so make sure to color at least 1-2 weeks out so you have time to get any mistakes fixed before your session.
• If you want to wear your hair in its natural state, no problem! Feel free to arrive with it styled "photo- ready" so we can get right into your session after completion of makeup! Just make sure to inform your stylist that you are NOT getting your hair styled so they don't begin to work on your hair.
That should do it! If you have any questions at all please feel free to reach out. And get excited!!! This is going to be a day you remember for the rest of your life!
